Doug Stanhope and Dave Chappelle. Louis CK is good too.
Hell fucking yeah! Finally someone else recognizes Doug Stanhope. I have all of his albums, I even paid for 3 of the after the fact, because they were that fucking good.
Did you get to see him in Florida back in November? Aren't you in Flordia?
Anywho, it is so hard to pick a favorite. I am a comedy junkie. I listen to at least an hour of comedy a day, usually more. IT does my sorry soul a hell a lto of good.
Right now I am listening to a lot of Doug Stanhope, Bill Burr, Patton Oswalt, and Kathleen Madigan.
If I had to choose a favorite based on the life's work, it would have to be George Carlin. I have listened to him since I was 5. No, that is not a typo, my dad let me watch Carlin, Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor, etc when I was 5. You can't imagine the amount of problems that caused me in elementary school.
Carlin has produced more comedy than any other Comedian. Richard Pryor comes in a very close second, and has produced almost as much original material. Lewis Black is relatively young still, and has potential to be in the same caliber as Carlin and Pryor.
So the short answer would have to be Carlin.
