If you're giving it your all in a meet then its likely that you'll take a performance hit due to exhaustion - be it muscular or neural. It might be that you're taking TOO much time off also.
After that 10-15% drop, do you come back stronger than before?
If so, then you have nothing to worry about. If not, then maybe take 5 days off completely, then another 5 days just do a few unload sessions before getting back to it.
You might find the unload sessions prime you a little better than going from nothing to basically regular lifting.
