After I compete and take a few days usually 7-10 I always am a lot weaker than the weeks before and during a meet. I am usually down about 10-15 percent. Is this a common thing among powerlifters or not?
 
By 7-10 days, do you mean you take that amount of time off?
 
If you're giving it your all in a meet then its likely that you'll take a performance hit due to exhaustion - be it muscular or neural. It might be that you're taking TOO much time off also.

After that 10-15% drop, do you come back stronger than before?

If so, then you have nothing to worry about. If not, then maybe take 5 days off completely, then another 5 days just do a few unload sessions before getting back to it.

You might find the unload sessions prime you a little better than going from nothing to basically regular lifting.
 
Thanks for the advice I will give it try taking the five days off. I do come back as strong after my next training session. Jon
