HCG for weight loss?

There is such thing as an hcg diet. I was wondering if anyone that has used hcg for test recovery has experienced any increased weight loss with it. The HCG diet consits of about the same dosage just administered ED. The HCG diet is also restricted calories but is said to help fat loss in trouble areas that are hard to lose fat from.

hcg diet is a hoax.....historically, it has been cyclical in its popularity. During the '30's, hcg diets were first introduced and the popularity has come and gone since that time, largely due to its inability to product generalized results.

i know several people who have run this diet. it does work. but only if the cal's are kept super low

imo every diet works to one extent or the other, the key is finding the diet that works best for you and your lifestyle, a diet is a diet, what becomes a successful lifestyle is what becomes your long term success...

find your maintenance level of calorie intake, go below that slightly to burn fat/lose weight and maintain the most muscle along the way, use AAS, HCG, Peps, OTC supps whatever you want to add to the mix to influence gains and or muscle retention, adjust accordingly when progress stalls...

A buddy of mine did it and got shredded. He said the hcg really help control the hunger pain from the low calories. I think he would have the same results with or without the hcg on such low calories. He is a firm believer in it.

Our investigation was designed to retest the hypothesis of the efficacy of human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) on weight reduction in obese women in a clinic setting. We sought to duplicate the Asher-Harper study (1973) which had found that the combination of 500 cal diet and HCG had a statistically significant benefit over the diet and placebo combination as evidenced by greater weight loss and decrease in hunger. Fifty-one women between the ages of 18 and 60 participated in our 32-day prospective, randomized, double-blind comparison of HCG versus placebo. Each patient was given the same diet (the one prescribed in the Asher-Harper study), was weighed daily Monday through Saturday and was counselled by one of the investigators who administered the injections. Laboratory studies were performed at the time of initial physical examinations and at the end of the study. Twenty of 25 in the HCG and 21 of 26 patients in the placebo groups completed 28 injections. There was no statistically significant difference in the means of the two groups in number of injections received, weight loss, percent of weight loss, hip and waist circumference, weight loss per injections, or in hunger ratings. HCG does not appear to enhance the effectiveness of a rigidly imposed regimen for weight reduction.
