IML Gear Cream!
So I know a lot of us have either been through this or currently are dealing with this.
I got severe facet syndrome, from years of moving Hospital Patients day in and out.
My doctor prescribed me 3 perc's a day for the pain,
after 3 months he said I had to be referred to a pain management doc, which immediately cut the 3 to 2
Knowing how the doc's work here (because I have been on the medical side of this) I am too scared to bring up the fact that some days 2 is not enough to cover the pain, some days 1 is good enough split into two, where as some days when I pressure wash or paint I could really use 5+
The bitch is the only thing I have found is an India supplier that does codeine and morphine that are both obviously way under dosed.
I know some gear sights are incorporating codeine now, but are there any places that incorporate something better suited for back injuries?
Thanks for any/all replies bc I have tried to search a lot on my own and it is not an easy topic for me to find genuine things on. I'm not looking for any crazy amounts, I just need to supplement something on the 14 hour labor days I do to make it through the crippling days.

I don't know if you're specifically looking for narcotics but ibuprofen works better than morphine for bone pain. Maybe try alternating that with an NSAID. Good luck.

Ibuprofen is an nsaid, and I am on meloxicam which is a really strong nsaid, but I'm still in the same boat. The bad thing about nsaids and bodybuilding is the first step to muscle growth is the inflamation

Build your core muscles and save the opiates for parties or a real injury, and stop your whining this is grown man business not childs play...

lol that's funny seeing as I gave 11 years of my life to healthcare and people think this is a joke. I don't take drugs to party friend. I drink occasionally, less and less as the years pass, I don't smoke anything. My party days are over for about 9 years now.

If you know the healthcare side then you'd know that a low dose of methadone will last all day in your system and would help better than up to 5 percocets a day. I have Facet Joint issues too and I got off of all the scripts and started building up my body to help manage the painful instances. I rarely have issues any longer, usually after long car rides if I don't concentrate on keeping my stomach muscles tense(which helps keep my core strong in the long run) I also do half crunches while laying in bed watching tv or on the floor.

After doing side jobs it's really bad (house painting, or pressure washing) after a back workout it feels good for a couple hours. I'm flexible and stretch every day, I grapple, train, and work, but some days 2 percocet doesnt last the entire day. I take meloxicam and flexiril 3 days a week as well. It's the worst pressure washing my im hunched over for hours. Working with patients, I have had a hernia, broken wrist (bariatric facility with skeleton crews) and been sick countless times more than I would have been, as well as this back issue that really started years ago, last year getting worse by far

What does the orthopedic say? What about tramadol? Years of Percocet isn't ginna help.

i feel your pain.
had spinal fusion surgery January 2014, just went back to doc today because I'm now having nerve pain again. two of the four titanium screws broke. bone moved back to hitting my sciatic nerve. he tells me he doesn't want to do another surgery because it's too invasive and he'd have to go through my side instead of the back to get to spine to put in new hardware with a cage and shit. he wanted to refer me to a pain management doc and take pain pills the rest of my life. I said no way. getting a second opinion.

Dude that sucks Swiper. Did you feel them break?

no. but about two months ago I started feeling pain again. I thought it was just some water retention from working a lot 6 days a week, bending, twisting. pulling pushing ect.... so I didn't think too much of it until I took a three day weekend to rest and the pain never went away. so then I knew something was wrong. my doc and another one from the practice said they never seen this before on the spine and were really shocked to see it. when I got home I looked online and it does happen. something's fishy for them to tell me they never heard if this happening. a simple google search will show it does happen. Either they are lying to cover their asses or have a major lack of experience. but he's been doing this for almost 20 years. some break because the doc puts the screws in not at the proper angle. or the screws can be defective. there's not an incident that I remember that would be at such a force to break them.
after 6 weeks post surgery the doc said I can go back to my normal life, lifting ect.. he said "You can get hit by a truck and it'll still be fine nothing will break it" so after that I went back to working out and resumed normal life activities. it appears the bone didn't fuse properly. so I'm gonna see another doc for another opinion and might talk to a lawyer.

Tramadol literally does nothing for me, or anyone else I know that has taken them.
They want to do injections in my back, but after being in on over 100 of those cases in the OR, and seeing how I do a sub q shot more carefully than the Docs put the needles (6-8) in your back, I don't want to do it. They treat your spine like a pin cushion.
I know years of percocet isn't good, but I honestly don't know what else to do, I stretch a lot, I workout, I do everything w good form in life...
I don't get mentally addicted to shit but physically everyone does. A few months ago I had no pain for two weeks, so I stopped taking the percocets, and I had diarrhea for about a week straight. When I had my hernia operation though I gave a bottle of oxy's I had away to a friend bc I didn't need them anymore, and I only took like 3 or 4 out of 90 out of it.

Get a good radiologist that specializes in epidurals and you'll have better luck. A lot of docs are doing them but very few are good

My doc is a sports injury specialist, takes care of the Pro Bowlers when they come to HI, he was always dead on with the epidurals, but that shit is the most uncomfortable pain I ever had, I cringe just thinking about the 6 times I had it done.

I have been in on both Fluoro guided epidural shots, and in the OR and I really am not going to have that done.

i have a host of back issues...similar to Swipers...have gotten a few epidurals but turned down the pain meds cause i know were that will go...i also see a sports chiro 2 x a month for a full treatment...i manage cause i probably dont really think about it unless i'm driving or sitting for longer then 30-45 min..my legs go numb from the glute down and it becomes very uncomfortable..

it sucks but life goes on...

you'll all think Im nuts but I spent 12 yrs of moving pts around when I was a whopping 140lbs
so have my spine looks like a stegosaurus on xray..

anyway..fuck a bunch of pain killers..bikram yoga fixed so much more than any pain killer ever did...
the heat definitely helps get you loosened up then the poses themselves strengthen your core
this and a good chiro kept me from offing myself over pain managment/pain
