Bye Bye Bush...

Explain to me how this is Bush?

All I read anymore is essentially, "any thing I don't like is Bush's fault."

If you think the censorship thing does not come to Bush and his cabinet members you are serioously fucked in the head. Isn't decency a big thing on his plate. I have a felling the networks did not get together and say, "Boy, we have to really nail this indecency thing down." I am sure political pressure was used.

I never thought that the Victoria's Secret flesh parade was something that should be televised

I don't see this as Bush's fault. The FCC is starting to enforce some rules that have been in place for a very long time.

I'm sure glad I'm not the only one seeing this. :(

Who appointed Michael Powell as the head of the FCC? And yes, it is Michael Powell, son of Colin Powell.

The FCC was originally created to make sure the stations were running on the proper frequency, not to police what is aired.

On March 11, 2004, the House of Representatives passed the "Decency Enforcement Act of 2004," increasing indecency fines to $500,000 per incident. That bill is now in the Senate.

A week later, on March 18, 2004, the FCC fined Howard Stern's broadcast company the current maximum of $27,500 for a July 26, 2001show in which he discussed slang terms for sex acts. This was in spite of the fact that he doesn't use expletives on the air. As the Howard Stern website demonstrates, Oprah Winfrey discusses sexual slang on her show, without facing FCC fines. There is no clear law against discussing slang, but the FCC is using a definition of indecency as "patently offensive sexual or excretory references" to go after Howard Stern.

Where is this bill going after the senate and who thinks it won't be approved?

And you point being? Bush only signs the bills into law, congress creates them. Blame them.

As for VS, go get one of their catalogs. Then you can stare at it for as long as you want.

The FCC is under the directive of any current admnistration.

It's a federal bureaucratic organization.

Folks, no offense, but.....f*ckin' think about it!!!!

So, everything that happens in any agency is dictated by the President? You think about it.

that Janet ... now look what she's done. I think that along with Howard Stern, they better look at soap opera's ... reality tv ... game shows ... comdey channels ... :haha: ... whoever makes the laws will be busy.

Now, let's not fuq with cable shows. I can still get PB channel on satelite for free.

You can't see their boobs jiggle up and down in their bras in a magazine, think about it. :D

And yes, if the president elects an official to head a federal organization, how do you think he is going to choose that person. Most likely by having the same ideologies as the president.

Rob ... I agree ... although I pay for the PB channel. :)

But one has to think that if they ban a VS show, smut :)hehe: ... that's what my mom calls them, I say they are educational channels) channels can't be far behind.

Man, where's your imagination. What did you do when you were a kid?

A)How the hell do you get it for free?

B)If they are trying to rid the world of pornography, why would the PB channel be exempt?

c)Cable is a target because the channels are sold in packs, not individually. Can you imagine how much cable would cost if you had to pay for each individual channel? That would suck ass, but I guess I would prolly only have like 10 channels then, I see no reason for the PAX network :D

I learned that Cinemax was channel 19. There was no need for an imagination. :D

Don't know how I get if for free. Have been since I bought our system. Pay monthly for Total Choice with local channels and apparently get a free one.

You don't see it cuz you don't WANT to see it, that is what partisan politics is all about. :D

Wow, of all the things to worry about in the world today and the numerous topics being dicussed in the presidential election, Dale is basing who whould be in charge of the most powerful nation on earth on whether or not he gets to see scantilly clad women jiggle down a runway. Do us all a favor, buy some porn and don't vote.

Shut up dickhead, it's not just about porn, it's about freedom and the ability to choose what you want to hear and see. I don't like The OC, but I am not about to take away your right to watch it.

Bubba ... he has a point ... :) ... someone has decided for you as Americans what is and isn't moral. This just happens to be about a television show ... but I'm sure more is coming.

Who says we have a "right" to watch the OC or VS shows???

I don't think that is one of our inalienable rights.
