I sprained my ankle back in November playing tennis, it took over a month to "heal" and ever since then if I so much as move it the wrong way, my ankle gets sprained again and it is very frustrating. What can I do about it?

Sounds like you need a massage Greeky

I had the same problem years ago, I just babied it and kept it wrapped if I was going to do anything physical...I would suggest you see a doctor about it, but that advice seems to be frowned upon here....
Heal fast... ;)

And I thought we were friends... Figured I would at least get a "hello" from Greeky.
Guess I was wrong.

Too quick to respond negatively Randy, I read it and left my computer, but hello..

Thanks Foreman, my friend scared me by saying I might've torn a ligament and I might need surgery

Hello Greeky :wave2:

Yeah I guess I am a quick reactor :).
I'm sorry to hear about your ankle.
Wish I had some helpful advice for ya.
I guess the best I could suggest
would be to see a specialist.

Be careful with that, can scare away good people :) Thanks, I think I am going to try wearing an ankle brace see if that does anything for me

work on ankle stability and strength.

How did you do it, rolling it out?

Dale, I landed on it the wrong way

P Funk, how can I do that? :)

wokring with unstable surfaces (single leg exercises, standing on balance board, bosu ball etc......start with single leg work). Calf raises, anterior tibialis raises....anthing to just strengthen everything around that joint.

I did the same freakin' thing last night (sprained my ankle), man does that feel GOOD.

I was playing softball, and hit a grounder to 1st. It was a lady playing first, and she picked it up, and instead of tagging the bag like your supposed to, she ran across the bag. Me, going full speed, was going to kill her if i ran through the bag. So i pulled up short to try and jump out of the way, and ended up rolling my fucking ankle. So it was basically either her getting injured or me. I wish it was her.

I've joined the sprained ankle club, did it last Friday on my left ankle while playing football (or soccer to you US people). It swelled within a few hours, it's finally going down now but it's still slightly swolen and some bruising is forming.

When can I expect to walk on it again? Forget training, I desperately need a job for some money. I can walk on it a bit now, but I daren't put too much weight on it.

Is there anything more attractive than a yellow foot?

I can definitley relate to this thread. I play deck hockey (organized street hockey) and have had lots of sprained ankles over the years. I actually stopped playing for seven years, but started up again late last year and the ankle sprains started again immediately. Once you sprain an ankle, you become much more likely to sprain it again. I bought some And1 basketball shoes for my hockey games (they have lots of ankle support) and I wear an ankle brace under the shoe. I have not sprained my ankle since I started wearing this shoe/brace combination. Needless to say I only wear the brace when I am playing....not everyday use.

The good thing about spraining an ankle is that the initial pain fades to numbness after about five minutes, so I can always finish my game despite the sprained ankle. The pain the following morning pretty much sucks though. :D

That looks like it would work well baboon. I wish I had that when I last sprained my ankle. I went to the doctor and he just gave me one of those thin slip on elastic jobbers. Didn't provide much support.

I thought it had healed but nope, wore heels last night and now it hurts again

Who's :booty: you been kickin with those heels Greeky? (That's why they been hurtin) :hehe:

Ive been living with that for 30+ years Greek. The only answer is ankle raises off a platform every day until they burn. I'd avoid surgery to the ankle or foot if at all possible and the heels are going to have to go.

Besides a woman as attractive as you doesnt need to wear heels........good luck............Rich
