im doing pretty intense back training once a week and i found if i did biceps two days before, that my back routine suffered, should i bother doing any isolation exercises for biceps or just do them half a week after my back routine?

Post your back workout...
I do 4 sets of biceps after my 12 set back workout.
 
If your goals are strength, isolation exercises are not necessary.

I love this split...

1) Chest, Biceps
2) Quads
3) Rest
4) Rest
5) Back, Triceps
6) Delts, Calves
7) Rest

It allows for a great full arm workout twice a week and more than ample time for every muscle group to recover before working it again. I use a bunch of splits but this is one of my favorites. Could certainly help you out with what you're looking for.:thumb:
