I was interviewed last Monday 8/22. It went really well. I was asked to call Thursday 8/25 to check on the status of the review process. When I called on Thursday I was informed that there hadnt been any decisions yet and that he would contact me when there were any developments.
So do I call back again? If I do decide to call back, when should I do it? Tuesday 8/30? Thursday 9/1?? Dont call back at all? Send an email? Call immediately?
Im not sure... i dont want to seem pushy and I dont want them to think I am not eager and interested. Please advise.

They sound like direlects.

Unorganized.

If they are organized then they are being untruthful.

Wow....Sounds like the people I have to work with everyday.

Unorganized + Lie = welcome to working with East Asians.

Oh yes, we'll have your car finished tomorrow :) :) :) :)

^ So, you've heard promises that aren't kept, but it wasn't a promise it was a....

LIE......

If I don't get out of here, I am gong to go nuts.....

East Asians?

Uhmm.... does that really help me? This is not an uncommon occurrence when seeking a new job. Its something that I have been thru before, but now I am asking for more advice on how to go about it correctly/professionaly and hopefully have positive results from it.

What does working with or for East Asians have to do with anything?

The company is one of the largest casino/entertainment moguls on the East coast (-- of the USA, not Asia :finger: )

If you want to have a nazi thread where you bust on people who post there, you might not get many answers at all :)

Regardless, a week after you last phoned them is a good time to call I think. As you said, you dont want to sound impatient.. and if they haven't gotten their shit together in a week, they need to be reminded of it.

Thanks for advice... i was thinking along the same lines as that. But I am really confused to what the Nazi and East Asian talk is...

Common -

Most companies are understaffed and are technologically unfit (thanks Bush)
they work at 60-70% true efficiency...

If they don't call you before THURS, give them a call...

If they still can't give you an answer, ask for a reason!

State in the nicest way possible that you need an explaination
and you are displeased that they may be jerking you around!?

Either way, always keep looking for other opportunities
until they give you reason not to... IE=$$$$$$$

Most likely it means that they are interviewing others. So either you were not good enough or they want to give others a fair chance. To me this is not a good sign. Any job offer I got was usually made within 1 week.
I would continue to look/interview and give them a call in about 1 week. If they still don't know, then don't bother to call again.

If you REALLY want this job and you REALLY want to leave a good impression... Write a FOLLOW UP LETTER!!! Phone calls are ok but letters leave a lasting impression.

Feel free to use my example:

ADDRESS

SUBJECT DATE

Dear {RECIPIENT}

Thank you for the opportunity to interview for the open position you have in your organization. I realize the selection process can be quite competitive and I am honored to be selected as a candidate for interview.

It was a pleasure meeting you and {anyone else who was on the interview Panel} during the interview. I found the interview process to be both challinging and informative.

I have attached a list of referrals for your perusal. I invite you to call on any of these people should you have any questions about my abilities or performance. I am confident you will not be disappointed.

Thank you again for the opportunity. I look forward to meeting with you again soon.

My very best regards,

Thanks gang!! Good info. I already sent a letter very similar to the one you have listed here and it included the same info. I appreciate the help... i'll just keep my fingers crossed. Thanks again.

The peson you interviewed with is probably too busy posting on a forum somewhere and forgot about everything else they were supposed to do at their job.

Are you my Manager or something?!?

If they don't get back to you in a week, you might want to reprogram your humor chip and try again later :)
