kenwood said:when i bench my right shoulder in the rear of it has a sharp pain afterwards and in the middle of the lift...is their something wrong?
it doesn't happen when i am doing my normaly workout or when i'm using db's just when i max out..do u think if i'm pushin w/my shoulders it would effect?Flex said:I can all but guarentee that the reason you experience pain is because all the weight bears down on your shoulder during the negative phase of the lift, and that you push with mostly your shoulders during the postive phase.
When you bench, you need to squeeze your shoulder blades back as far as possible and focus on squeezing/contracting your pectoral muscles to move the weight up and down as opposed to just pushing with your shoulders.
Problem solved.

Tough Old Man said:does your dad lift weights. If so the next time he is benching and bringing the bar down, stomp on one of his toes. When he drops the weight on his chest and then ask what the hell you did that for, tell him you figured it would help him lower the weight quicker and then run like hell.
