We just laid down $73,000 for a 2008 BMW X6 and a 2009 BMW 128i Coupe.

Let me tell you the X6 is so fun to drive, it may look like an SUV but it's a car all the way, I took corners at high speed and stuck to them like glue....and it pretty fast too..

I will be driving the 128i to and from work because I drive the farthest and sit in traffic for nearly 2 hours each day so I wanted a fuel efficient car that I know will last for a long wile and give good payback in 5 years when I get a new car again. With my trade-in of the Nissan Altima I'm getting it at $22,000 and they threw in USB/IPOD/Bluetooth, plus they gave us $5000 off for buying 2 cars and they took our 2003 Murano for $9500. Oh yeah they also gave us free all-weather mats in both cars. Plus you can't top the free maintenance for 4 years. I mean we end up spending so much on servicing the Nissan's we nearly end up paying BMW prices for owning them we figured pay the extra money up front get nice cars and not have to spend much over the next 4 years. Then when we decide to get new cars we'll get even better trade-in money plus have saved up enough for nice ones again....

The X6 is a sleek looking car. I bet you are pretty happy with your new rides. :thumb:\
My friend has a Z4 and we joyride in it often. You are right about turning corners. The tires stick to the ground.

Apparently the solar business is doing well.

God I want a Z4 M.

very nice rides but i keep thinking "sitting in traffic 2 hours a day" how do you keep it from driving you nuts. here to wait longer than a minute at a light sometimes seems a long time.

Are you the IM version of Magnum P.I.?
Yeah, I don't really have a lot of money but my girlfriend lets me hang around her estate just like Robin Masters let's Magnum do. Not to mention I'm always finding unique and interesting jobs on this Island. Plus we have a dog named Zeus though it's not a doberman he can be just as protective as one and so can our Belgian Malinois Dolce....

Do you also have the "Stache"?
Hell no! Unlike Magnum's times the cheesy 70-80's porn star look is no longer popular in Hawaii. I do dress well though like yesterday I had these sueded cotton pants, a nice linen shirt with an embossed aloha print design and the most comfortable flip flops I ever wore.....

Honestly if any of you guys are looking for super comfortable sandals then go buy these ALDO shoes - ALDO men's footwear for all occasions: dress sandals, casual sandals and city sandals. They have a nice cusioned sole and the part that goes between your toes is so soft you don't even feel it....and they were only $22 on sale.....

$73000 is a lot of money to invest on a car man. But it is depends on person. The most important is SATISFACTION.

It's not just one car it's 2 and without our trade-ins and the $5000 off we would've spent $98,000. But those aren't the only things we are getting. We got all of our debt paid off and we are getting a Solar Thermal Water Heating system, a 3kW Photovoltaic system($30,000) with battery back-up, which is going on my house as I type(I'll take pictures), then we are going on vacation flying first class to San Francisco for 5 days and Palm Springs for 4 staying at luxury hotels($15-$20,000). The hotel in Palm Springs has it's own private patio and hottub. I will be at the casino's for a couple of those nights trying to win enough to wipe the slate clean

but I doubt I'll get that lucky... Then when we get back we are tearing out our kitchen cabinets and counter and putting in new ones and I'm making a nice dyed cement countertop. Plus I'll be refinishing our deck outside so that come January I can add more solar electric modules as a patio cover like so....

We figured now is the best time to get a home equity loan because not only will the mortagae companies really make sure we could afford it but we also got a really decent rate at 6.05% for a 30 year fixed. Not to mention we barely tapped into our equity so we still have plenty more to borrow if we need it. My business is booming and my girlfriend just got a very good schedule at her job where she should be making close to $5-6k a month plus she'll be working part-time as a banquet captain in a nice restaurant making $300 per night for weddings and parties.....so we figure with hardly any electric bill, no credit cards bills just paying the mortgage we should be able to pay it off in half the time....plus we will be saving a lot on the side and buying several cd's...

smartypants. have fun on your vacation. :)

My Girlfriend was the one who came up with the calculations for the other perks I just wanted to borrow enough for the solar and her daughters school....

then you're smart in your choice of gf :). the light bill there is crazy. i rent a big house and my light bill here in maine was only $162 this month.

Dont those panels need to be kept clean and dust free else it degrades their effectiveness? So how often does a homeowner need to climb the roof to clean them?

Hawaii's utilities run most of their plants on diesel so as the price per barrel rises so do our electric bills thats why it's so popular out here....

As far as cleaning as long as you aren't in a dry spell the rain washes them off, otherwise we recommend taking a hose to them once a month. We have some home owners who climb on the roof with a squeegie on a pole and scrub them clean but it's not necessary if you want them to be maintenance free...

You can't beat the 4 Years of Free Service, we probably spent over $3500 in maintenance on our 2 Nissans since we've had them. Being able to take both of our cars in to the same place and knowing we aren't going to get raped for the service will oay off for us over those 4 years.....

sugar mommas a great aren't they!!! lol that free service is nice!! its seems you got a pretty good deal!!! bmw left a sour taste in my mouth, i had a 745li and that car was nothing but problems, the whole car had to be rewired cause of electrical problems. it was just a head ache!!
